A Day in the Life of a Paralegal – Personal Injury Litigation
As a key part of the litigation team, you’ll be responsible for supporting attorneys in managing personal injury cases from start to finish. This includes drafting legal documents, managing case schedules, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the court, and providing trial support. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be crucial in helping to resolve cases efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, including complaints, motions, disclosures, and discovery
- Managing attorney calendars, case deadlines, and scheduling orders
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progress
- Organizing and maintaining case files and evidence
- Providing support during trials as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or litigation assistant, preferably in personal injury law
- Strong drafting skills for basic litigation filings
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
